Here are some new clips of Mike, playing at the National Theatre in Richmond, Virginia backed by US musicians, when seemingly he was a last minute substitute for Wayne Fontana, who was deported from the US.... see explanation below, from the poster of the clips, who said he has received kind and positive email comments from the UK.

The YouTube poster said: "Mike Pender had just gotten off the plane from the UK before this concert. I believe Wayne Fontana was supposed to perform, but he refused to give his thumb print at US Customs the day earlier and got his stubborn ass deported. I surmise that Mike was brought in as a last minute substitute.
"He was backed by local musicians and Jon Washington's Fortunes. The programme was recorded for later broadcast on the Public Broadcasting Network. This video was taken with a pocket still camera."

You won't have to wait much longer Roy because from February until May 2010 Mike will be touring in the Solid Silver Sixties 25th Anniversary tour with Dave Berry, Brian Poole, Peter Sarstedt, Vanity Fare, Swinging Blue Jeans and The Troggs!!! What a fantastic line-up to look forward to... and I hope Edinburgh and Dunfermline will be included so I can go twice! :o))

How good to see a website for Mike at long last! I've been a huge fan of his and The Searchers since first seeing them in 1964 at Taunton and I have seen them many times since.
The last time I saw and spoke to Mike was in May last year at the Oh Boy, it's the non-stop 60s show!
My favourite ever song is Needles and Pins and I'm so pleased Mike still sings it after all these years!
