Remembering Lemmy of Hawkwind and Motörhead
Although not my kind of music, I had a lot of affection for Motörhead front man Lemmy. I first met him in the 70s probably around the time he was forming Motörhead.
He was actually at one of our gigs (Searchers) as by then we had changed direction somewhat and our music was a little heavier! I remember him being very complimentary and being genuinely impressed with our sound at the time.
Our paths crossed again later, still in the 70s, when both groups were on the same bill at an outdoor concert somewhere in the UK! I've never seen him since! A lovely guy with a big heart and voice to match.
