I have followed Mike for over half a century and I have seen him perform literally hundreds of times, most recently in the "Sensational 60s Experience" at Southport Theatre on Friday, 24th November.
Mike's voice was as euphonious and as awe-inspiring as ever on Friday night, as was his playing. As always, Mike went out of his way to speak to as many fans as possible after the concert and he was as charming and as captivating as ever. I bought his wonderful greatest hits album and he graciously signed it for me.
As an aside, I would like to thank Mike from the bottom of my heart for dedicating his performance of "When You Walk in the Room" to my dear late friend John Williams, especially as I only made the dedication request shortly before the start of the concert. John was a big fan of Mike Pender and that particular song was his favourite Searchers number. He would have been made up to hear the legendary Mike Pender making such a dedication in front of thousands of fans. Thanks Mike. Such a lovely gesture from a lovely guy.
